This past Sunday (2/26/17), I woke up finding apx 6+ inches of cold pow, here at 2,600′ in the Central Cascades. After skiing with Jeff Saturday, and finding great snow up high, I was wanting to start the day at Alpental, but it was hard to leave the goods here in the backyard, knowing the BC gates would be most likely delayed. Turns out the Alpental BC gates opened at 2PM, which provided SUPER DEEP SNOW! So, starting the day at Summit East was the right choice even if the steeper terrain was a little scratchy beneath the feather light. If you and you ski partner(s) were thinking of taking a walk in the trees today, you should have a BLAST!
