Super stoked for this one out of Arizona yesterday ( 1/14/13 ), from Josh Langdon skiing the Inner Basin which is just outside the Snowbowl ski area. Most people don’t think of Arizona when it comes to skiing, however AZ has 4 ski areas throughout the state. Mt. Lemmon being the furthest south in the lower 48, hovering over Tucson. Sunrise ski area is located in Central AZ with in the Apache Nation. Northern AZ is home for both Elk Ridge on Route 66 in Williams, and Snowbowl which is located just outside Flagstaff at the base of the 12,633′ San Francisco Peaks. Snowbowl’s base area sits at 9,200′ and the ski lifts get you another 2,300′ up the mountain.

Yes, this is Arizona and the skiing at this resort is legit, not to mention the sic backcountry that Josh and his crew have all to themselves. Being an Arizona boy myself, I will be making it a point to get down and ski Flagstaff with Josh in the near future (who knows maybe the Plakes would do a “SW Down Home Tour” next year). Thanks for the Southwest stoke, JOSH!
