For you folks out there (myself included until a few years ago) who feel that opening on the first weekend in December is late for us at Snoqualmie Pass, WA, listen to this one: The life long average at the Summit at Snoqualmie (aka Snoqualmie Summit in yesteryear) is this weekend. So they hit it right on the mark. When I say, “right on the mark,” how about loads of fresh powder (as shown by Shaun Maurer below) to start the first weekend of the season just right.

This was an outstanding opening day for Summit West. Those who expected to see the Pacific Crest chair lift as the only choice for some steeper terrain were surely stoked to see more. Most people think of P.C. as a chill “blue square” zone, but there are definitely goods to be had as can be seen in our prior opening vids. This year’s bigger snow a little higher up on the mountain allowed the Summit’s management to green light the Wildside chair. Check out the vid below from this past weekend and we will catch you tomorrow, Wednesday, at Summit West from 9AM – 4PM, followed by their start of Day AND Night operations on Thursday. CENTRAL OPENS on Friday (only day ops), and save those legs ’cause our fav ALPENTAL is listed for Saturday as TBD! Think BIG fat snow and stay tuned here or at the Summit’s page www.Summit-at-Snoqualmie.com.
