Winter storm warning in effect for Aspen valley. 2-4″ new this morning. Headed to Aspen Highlands where I checked out Highlands Bowl yesterday – topping out at 12,392′. With a base elevation of 8,040′, this mountain’s got some serious skiing. I was impressed! To get there, ride the free snowcat from top of the Loge Peak or Temerity lift. From there, boot up roughly 700′. This is the only mountain I’m aware of that details the steepest and average pitch for each run. And in the Bowl, it’s a consistent minimum 30degree grade the whole way. Nice. Check out the details below.
