Mellow Snoqualmie Pass classic 1,600′+ tour up The Kendall Clear Cut aka stump, block cut and on and on… This years low snow coverage and solar effected death crust The Clear Cut was easy an expert tour, running into 3 gals on snow shoes falling in the young growth tree wells divided by 4 to 12″ spines, YIKES, oh yah no poles to make it tougher. Once on top there seemed to be an inch and one half of a breakable crust so to feather the skis on the downside of things was mandatory to SKI it w/ out breaking through and ??? Love my super fat skis for that kind of condition, oh wait love my super fat skis almost always except on blue ice at which point I just don’t like any ski.
