Oct. 5th, 2010 some of The Snow Troopers found themselves waking up w/ the sounds created by the mighty Nooksack River from our sweet last min. room rental @ the Snow Water condos located in Glacier, WA.

After a nice big breakfast we took the short 20 min. drive to the TH to start our tennis shoe climb towards Heliotrope Ridge. Met only 3 guys heading up for a few days to enjoy their summit of Mt. Baker. They had stopped just before the Coleman Glacier on the climbers route for night one. Wishing we had all brought our ski crampons we started our ascent towards the far lookers left of Heliotrope Ridge finding a half inch of fresh on small frozen sun cups. Snow skied OK but not good enough to rip it w/ out fear of…
After our perfect day of views and turns we made our way back down the trail catching a great sunset and not having to get the lamps out.

Live to ski another day!
