The Cascades have been hit hard for the last couple of weeks w/ some nasty warm wet fronts off the Pacific and  Easterly outflows creating some quite undesired conditions of  rain curst then snow, blue ice layer, then another inch of snow, followed by another 1/2″ to 3/4″ blue ice layer… Snow Dance EVERYONE on the Cascade front from Snoqualime Pass to Canada. Just got word that Cypres Mountain will close to the public from now until the winter games to preserve the snow.  Cypress Mountain is the Official Freestyle Skiing (Aerials, Moguls & Ski Cross) and Snowboard (Half Pipe, Parellel Giant Slalom, and Snowboard Cross) Venue for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Below is a short vid – One of Hyak’s  blue ice layers out there waiting to take you down.
